Much like
the "emperor's new clothes", the dot-com demise gives
these companies the opportunity to assess the internet for the unique
communications vehicle it is-a person to person communications vehicle
that enables non-simultaneous communications to take place at the
time of greatest convenience to all parties involved.

The internet will
impact our lives as significantly as television or radio before it.
Despite the dot-com demise, internet usage continues to rise, and
business-to-consumer (B2C) e-commerce sales are up 67% year to year.
Outside of breaking down global informational barriers, the internet's
greatest impact may well come in business-to-business (B2B) marketing
as verses the more glamorous business-to-consumer (B2C) marketing.
